The
Ion ST is the successor to the now legendary M-Pire
ST. (2004 to 2007 – R.I.P.) As with it’s
precursor, the Ion ST is one of the most race-orientated
derailleur downhill frame within the Nicolai product
range. The Ion has got a less progressive suspension
than the M-Pire so the total amount of usable rear
travel is enhanced. Due to it’s 4 bar design
the Ion is also less susceptible to drive and brake
effects than the M-Pire, and lighter weight means
it is obviously easier to a accelerate. By using
a 83 mm bottom bracket width and a 150 x 12 mm rear
thru-axle this is a super stiff frame with plenty
of clearance for your feet. |
